Refund Policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Our guides are digital files that reach you the moment you pay, which changes how refunds work compared with a physical product. This page explains exactly where you stand.

The short version. If a file is faulty, will not download, or is not what you ordered, we will fix it or refund you in full. Because the guides are delivered instantly, we do not otherwise refund for a change of mind. Customers in the UK and the EEA have a statutory right to cancel — see section 3.

1. When we refund

Our guides are digital files, so there is nothing to return. What we can put right is a problem with the file or the order itself, and we do that without argument:

In most of these cases our first step is simply to send you a working file — that usually solves it faster than a refund. If it does not, you get your money back. There is no time limit on a faulty file: if it stops working, tell us.

2. When we do not refund

Because the guides are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, we do not refund for a change of mind. That includes:

This does not affect any statutory right you have, including the right to cancel described in section 3, or your right to a remedy if what you receive is faulty or not as described.

Separately from refunds: sharing or redistributing the files breaches our licence terms and ends your licence to use them.

3. UK and EEA customers: your right to cancel

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, consumer law gives you 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel and receive a full refund, without giving a reason.

The law allows a seller to set that right aside for digital content delivered immediately, but only where the seller asks you, before taking payment, to expressly consent to immediate delivery and to acknowledge that you are giving up the right to cancel. Our checkout does not ask you for that, so the exception does not apply and this right is available to you even after you have downloaded the guide.

To exercise it, email us within 14 days of your purchase — see section 4. You do not need to give a reason. This right takes precedence over section 2.

4. How to request a refund

Email bonjour@parlonsfrancaisdaily.com with:

  1. the email address you used at checkout;
  2. your order or receipt number from the Payhip confirmation email;
  3. which guide it concerns;
  4. what went wrong — a screenshot helps if it is a technical fault.

We aim to acknowledge within two business days and to resolve within seven. Please write to us first rather than opening a chargeback with your bank: a chargeback takes far longer and we can almost always sort it out directly.

5. How refunds are paid

Refunds are issued through Payhip, our storefront and payment provider, and go back to the original payment method — the card or PayPal account you paid with. We cannot pay a refund to a different account.

Once we approve it, Payhip processes the refund immediately, but your bank or card issuer usually takes a further 5 to 10 business days to show it on your statement. Any VAT you were charged is refunded along with the purchase price.

Refunding a guide ends your licence to use it, and you should delete the files you downloaded.

6. The free guide

100 Essential French Words costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund. If the download will not work, tell us and we will send it to you directly.
